Excursions & Activities

At English Camp World we place a strong emphasis on excursions and adventurous outdoors activities as a way to get to know some of England’s most beautiful and fascinating cities and cultural heritage.


During each two-week camp you will go on 3 full-day excursions (including London) and 4 half-day excursions.

On the remaining afternoons and every evening we offer fun activities and entertainment at the camp. Of course all activities are run completely in English!

London - Capital City with Culture and Flair

Full Day Excursion

Experience the buzz of the British capital city for a full day. On arrival in London we will take you for a ride on the incredible 135- meter high "London Eye" observation wheel with breathtakingly spectacular views over the city.


Our sightseeing walk around the city includes the following major attractions:

Westminster Bridge - The Houses of Parliament – The Elizabeth Tower and Big Ben – Westminster Abbey - Downing Street – Horse Guards Parade – St. James's Park – Buckingham Palace - St. James's Palace – Piccadilly Circus – Leicester Square - Trafalgar Square - The National Gallery - St. Martin in the Fields - Covent Garden

During the tour we will have a picnic lunch in St. James's Park. You will also have the opportunity to visit shops and experience street artists. We round of the day with a riverboat cruise along the river Thames to Tower Bridge. This is another highlight on what promises to be a very memorable day.


For those students who've experienced our sightseeing tour before, we offer an exciting alternative program in London.

London is an amazing city with something for everyone!


Full Day Excursion

Famous for its 43 University colleges and spectacular historic architecture, Oxford is one of the most appealing cities to visit in the whole of England.


We begin the tour with a visit to Carfax Tower where you can enjoy a splendid view across the city. During our guided sightseeing tour you will see the most important landmarks including many of the colleges, Oxford Castle, Christchurch Cathedral, the Bridge of Sighs, the Bodleian Library and the Covered Market.


In the afternoon you can choose between a visit to the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology, a fun boating experience on a "punt" on the river Thames or simply explore the narrow lanes, cobbled-stone streets and interesting shops in the city centre. Oxford is a true gem of a city with something for everyone!


City of Bath

Full Day Excursion

This is one of England’s most ancient and beautiful cities. Bath is known for its hot spring water, its spectacular 18th century Georgian architecture and honey-coloured stone buildings.


During our visit we will take you on a sightseeing tour where you can marvel at the amazing curved architecture of The Royal Crescent and enjoy some of the most picturesque views of any city in England, including the weir at the river Avon, the Pulteney Bridge – one of the few bridges in the world boasting shops on either side, the Guildhall market and the intricate Gothic Abbey with its stunning stained glass windows. At the end of the tour we will visit the famous Roman Baths, where you will be astounded at the ingenuity of the Roman architects. You’ll be invited to taste the unusual hot spring waters which rise from the rocky depths of more than 2km beneath the earth.


After the tour there is ample time for you to roam the ancient, narrow streets of Bath and explore hundreds of unusual shops.


Bath is a dream of a city. You won’t want to leave!


Drayton Manor Park

Zoo & Fun-Fair

Full Day Excursion

Experience a day trip of sheer fun and excitement at one of England’s most loved theme parks.


Take a walk around the beautiful zoo, home to more than 100 different species including exotic birds, reptiles, monkeys, meerkats, tigers, kangaroos, the unusual red panda and many more.


After a relaxing picnic lunch try out the many exciting attractions and rides in the fun-fair, including rollercoasters, water-rides, super swings and the haunted house. This is a day out with fun galore! 


Warwick Castle

Full Day Excursion

Let’s step back in time to the year 1068 and the dark ages. At Warwick Castle you will relive history in a medieval fortress, built almost 1000 years ago by William the Conqueror.


Marvel at the stunning castle interiors, watch the great displays, knights in armour on the battlefield, jousting and sword fighting, the falconry show and history tours that come alive.

Seaside Resort

Llandudno in Wales

Full Day Excursion

On this excursion we cross the border from England into Wales and travel through the incredibly beautiful Welsh countryside to the largest coastal resort in Wales: Llandudno.

Here we will take a ride on the Llandudno cable car, which reaches a height of over 200 meters at the summit of the Great Orme, with breath-taking views across the nature reserve, the sea, the lighthouse and town.

There is ample time to enjoy the long sandy beach, take a swim in the sea, fly kites and take part in our sand sculpturing competition. We will also visit the amusement arcade on the famous Llandudno Pier, which stretches far out into the sea.

This promises to be a wonderful day out and a welcome change from city sightseeing.


Blists Hill Victorian Town and Ironbridge Gorge

Full Day Excursion

Step through the entrance gate at Blists Hill Victorian Town and you'll be traveling back in time to experience what it was like to live more than 100 years ago in 19th Century Britain.


Visit old-fashioned shops such as a grocery, a clothes fitter and a sweetshop. Taste delicious freshly baked old-fashioned bread or fish and chips, cooked in beef dripping. Journey around the town on a horse and cart. Watch traditionally skilled craftsmen such as candle-makers, printers or decorative plasterers and see steam engines in action. Visit a Victorian fun-fair with swings, rides and funny games. Round off the visit with an old-fashioned Victorian "Sing Along" experience in the town's pub.


On this excursion we will also be visiting the famous Ironbridge Gorge, which runs along Britain’s longest river, the River Severn. We will walk across the magnificent Iron Bridge, the first of its kind in the world, built in 1779.



Half Day Excursion

Visit one of Europe's most vibrant shopping cities. It's just a short 20 minute train ride from Wolverhampton. Visit the multi-tiered "Bullring" shopping centre where you can "shop until you drop"!


Alternatively take a walk around the city centre and we will show you the most important landmarks including the old Town Hall, the historic canals, the Piccadilly and Burlington Arcades and the ultra-modern Symphony Hall.

Birmingham is a modern and attractive city with international flair.

Tropical Snorkelling

Adventure Activity

Explore a tropical underwater environment in a huge aquatic tank.

Under professional guidance you will be kitted out with a wetsuit, snorkel and large goggles and be able to swim under water with the protection of a snorkel cage in one of England's newest and most spine-tingling adventures.

Marvel at the elegance of black fin and hammerhead sharks, stingrays and the beautiful sight of more than 1000 multi-coloured tropical fish.

This is an underwater adventure you will never forget!

Cliff Lakes Outdoor Aqua Park

Adventure Activity

Enjoy a spectacularly splashing time at this unusual outdoor aqua park. Built into the natural landscape of a large fresh water lake, enjoy jumping, diving, climbing and bouncing through the various obstacles on this floating fun course. You will be equipped with a wetsuit and professional trainers are there to show you how to do daring acrobatics and amazing stunts!

Stand Up Paddling

Adventure Activity

Under professional guidance learn how to master the new and trendy sport stand up paddling. This is one of the easiest of all water sports and it's a lot of fun. Within just a few minutes you will be able to find your balance on the board and start using the special long paddle to move smoothly across the water, at first gently and then as your confidence grows with more and more speed.

Race against your friends and see who can keep their balance when a motorboat drives by creating waves. An afternoon of splashing fun and laughter guaranteed!

"Go Ape"

Treetop High Ropes Course

Adventure Activity

Built within the natural forest canopy of Cannock Chase, "Go Ape" is one of the most exciting high ropes adventures in England. Navigate across more than 1,500 meters of rope bridges, scramble nets, swinging logs and balance beams. Set your challenges as high as you dare, beginning on one of the lower-ranged courses and climbing to a height of 17 meters. Then ride down one of the fast zip-lines back to ground level -

the longest offers stunning views across the forest landscape and a 260 meter ride.

Climb high, conquer and boost your self-confidence!


Indoor Sky Diving

Adventure Activity

Experience the sheer adrenalin of free fall skydiving in the safety of the "iFly" wind tunnel.

A professional guide will teach you the positions and signals. You will then be kitted out with a sky diving suit, helmet and goggles before entering the wind tunnel.

Once you've found your balance in the rush of the air, you'll experience the same feelings as a parachutist free-falling from over 4000 meters.

A heart-racing and unforgettable experience!


Adventure Activity

Winter sports at the height of the summer? English Camp World makes it possible! You'll need to dress up warmly for the Snowdome, which is a huge indoor snow paradise with freezing temperatures.

Race down the open slope on a toboggan through smooth and fluffy real snow and see if you dare to be faster than your friends. Or try out "adrenalin tubing" on one of the huge rubber rings used along a narrow and padded slope.

Pure fun and excitement in this winter sport extravaganza!


Go-Kart Racing

Adventure Activity

After a professional introduction to this sport and some safety guidelines, you will learn how to drive a Go-Kart within just a few seconds. It's easy and a lot of fun! Overalls and helmets are provided and at the end of each race you will receive a print out of your lap times.

Race like Lewis Hamilton at our fantastic Grand Prix Experience. Have you got what it takes to put your foot down on the throttle, in our dynamic race session of go-karting?

Pool Party

Afternoon Camp Program

At our camp location Tettenhall College you can enjoy the use of the indoor heated swimming pool. When we use the pool there is always a professional lifeguard present to ensure absolute safety.

At our pool party you will love participating in fun team games, including pool volleyball, water polo, flamingo floats, acrobatics and much more. Afterwards relax with a tropical non-alcoholic cocktail and look forward to our evening program "Hawaii Night"!



Afternoon Camp Program

Cricket is one of the oldest and most popular sports in England and also widely played in India, Pakistan and Australia, but this sport is virtually unknown in other European countries.


We will teach you the terminology and rules of this fascinating and easy to learn game, including how to bat, bowl, be a wicketkeeper or a fielder.

Anyone can play and enjoy cricket. It only takes a few minutes to understand the rules and then the fun can begin. In the past this has proved to be one of the most well-loved afternoon activities at our camps.



The Animal Man's

Afternoon Camp Program

We bring our English topics to life with this unique and exciting, interactive, hands on animal experience. Have a close encounter with a snake, a skunk, a Meerkat, a lizard, a giant tropical frog, a Tarantula spider or a giant centipede. Learn about their habitats and what they like to eat.

Scare your Instagram friends with photos of you with a snake wrapped around your shoulders!

The Animal Man is a professional zoologist with many years of experience working with his animals. It is a safe and fun afternoon that will delight students of all ages.


T-Shirt Styling

Afternoon Camp Program

This is a relaxing and creative activity for everyone.

We will provide you with your very own English Camp World T-Shirt. With the use of many different coloured fabric pens you can style your T-shirt with words, logos, numbers, maps, flags, mosaics and pictures of cars, animals, planets, flowers, dinosaurs, famous landmarks or whatever your imagination says!

If you're not the creative type don't worry, we'll help you get started with lots of good ideas and we also have a huge collection of stencils that you can use to make your designs look particularly impressive.

Of course you may keep your T-shirt and take it back home with you after the camp as a souvenir.

Wacky Olympics

Afternoon Camp Program

This is one of the highlight events of our camp program and always very well loved by all students.

In teams you will participate in hilarious and wacky competitive games, for example relay races, Frisbee throwing, balloon stomping, football dribbling, egg and spoon race, book-on-head balancing, bouncing horsey hopper race, water sponge relay, apple bobbing and more.

This is probably the funniest activity of all at our camps and you will definitely laugh a lot!


Vintage Tea Party

Afternoon Camp Program

Imagine a table full of Victorian decorations with candles, birdcages, cake stands, porcelain cups and saucers, elegant milk jugs, flowery napkins and petals. At our vintage tea party you will enjoy the taste of freshly brewed English tea, served with milk. Fancy, sticky cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam will delight your palate. Our service waitresses, dressed in period costume, will make you feel like a Duke or Lady and our Mistress of Etiquette will teach you how to hold your cup properly and introduce you to the fine art of English tea-party small talk.

American Bowling

Adventure Activity

American Ten Pin Bowling is easy to learn and a lot of fun to play. Experience one of England's very best bowling alleys with high-tech lanes.
